home Inspection vs. Appraisal | A-Pro Home Inspection Olympia

Sometimes buyers ignore the need for a home inspection because they don?t understand the purpose. Inspectors are confused with appraisers. The latter confirms the home?s market value to the lender but it offers consumers no protection in terms of the overall condition of the home.

Buyers shouldn?t let anyone convince them that they don?t need an inspection. Even people moving into new construction or foreclosure home should consider hiring a professional home inspector.

If an inspector identifies problems in either a new or an existing home, the seller could adjust the price or terms in the contract to the buyer?s benefit.

It doesn?t pay to try to save a couple bucks by having a friend with building experience walk through the home. Experienced inspectors know what to look for and how to classify the problems he or she sees. In some states, only licensed professionals can conduct inspections.

Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G review: T-Mobile's QWERTY slider falls flat

DNP Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G review TMobile's QWERTY slider falls flat

We first heard rumblings about the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze Q slider back in August, and what stood out most -- apart from the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and HSPA+42 connectivity -- was that long-winded moniker. Interesting, then, that Sammy should re-brand the T-Mobile device with a name that does nothing to clarify this handset's identity: the Galaxy S Relay 4G. That jumble of words aside, this phone offers a five-row QWERTY layout, a dual-core S4 chip and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, all for the moderate price of $150 (with a $50 mail-in rebate). Is this slider the best T-Mobile has to offer? Join us past the break as we give the Relay the full run-through.

The Case For ?Curiosity?: Why You Should Stay Up And Watch The Mars Rover Landing

marsorbust2As I write this, NASA's Curiosity rover is hurtling through space as it has been for the past eight months, but that all changes tonight. With any luck (scratch that -- with a staggering amount of luck), that Mini Cooper-sized envoy will survive its tricky seven minute atmospheric entry, after which it will roam the Martian surface conducting a slew of science experiments for nearly two years. It's all arguably important stuff -- what Curiosity finds could be instrumental to understanding the origins of the planet, not to mention that it could help pave the way for a manned mission -- but I have to wonder how many people living in this age of distraction actually give a damn.
