A NATO spokesman said that an explosion occurred outside the base, but that the grenades did not breach its defences.
?Initial reports indicate that there were no ISAF service member fatalities,? said Navy Lt. Cmdr. Brian Badura, referring to NATO's International Security Assistance Force. He declined to comment on whether there were any wounded.
Despite an apology from U.S. President Barack Obama, riots raged across the country for a sixth day on Sunday against the desecration of the Muslim holy book at a NATO air base at Bagram. Some protesters hoisted the white Taliban flag.
The Afghan Interior Ministry identified one of its employees as a suspect in the fatal shooting of two U.S. officers in its headquarters a day earlier, an attack that prompted NATO to recall its staff from ministries.

CCTV footage showed that Mr. Saboor had access to the Command and Control Centre, tucked deep inside the ministry, where the slain Americans were found, security officials told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
The Taliban took responsibility for the attack, saying it was in retaliation for the burning of the Korans.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai repeated his plea for calm and restraint. ?It is time to regain and preserve our calm, and not allow our enemies to misuse it,? he told reporters, referring to the nationwide violence.

The A?s really had nothing to lose by going into the Manny business. It?s not as though the fans could get much more apathetic. Plus, since they?ll be without him for the first 50 games anyway, they?ll still have time to evaluate whether Brandon Allen should be in their plans and take a longer look at Reddick.
I don?t think there?s a whole lot to gain, either, especially considering the going rate for veteran DHs, but the A?s are a little more interesting now and that?s something.

CHONBURI, Thailand (AP) ? Top-ranked Yani Tseng successfully defended her LPGA Thailand title for her 13th LPGA Tour victory, with birdies on the final two holes Sunday to hold off playing partner Ai Miyazato by a stroke.
The 23-year-old Taiwanese star shot a 6-under 66 to finish at 19-under 269 on Siam Country Club's Pattaya Old Course. She opened with a 73, then shot consecutive 65s to enter the final round a shot behind Miyazato.
Before the tournament she made a wish on a lucky Thai statue.
"I had some luck out there," Tseng said. I shot 1 over the first round, but I came back very soon and played 20 under the next three days. I felt like I could improve a lot and I feel like something gave me luck."
She also visited the statue last year.
"I just wish I could win this tournament," she said.
Last year, Tseng won the event for the first of her seven 2011 LPGA Tour victories, including major victories in the LPGA Championship and Women's British Open. The five-time major champion finished the year with 12 worldwide victories. She has 33 career worldwide professional victories.
"I feel much more pressure coming into this year," Tseng said. "Last year, when I started, I was nothing. I was just in the top five in the world, but I don't have 12 wins or world No. 1 title. After last year, I have world No. 1 and I had 12 wins and that pressure keep going on and on."
On the par-5 18th, she came through with the pressure on, nearly holing her 104-yard approach and tapping in for the winning birdie.
"It was an incredible shot. I think it's the shot of the week," Tseng said. "Especially, I saw that Ai hit it so close and I knew she was going to make that putt. So, I tell myself, 'I need to get this close.'
"It was tough. I had 104 to the pin and a little uphill. I know my ball is going to spin a lot, so I just tried to keep it low and not spin too much. ... I was very proud of myself for hitting that shot into 18 and making birdie to win."
Miyazato, the Japanese player who won the 2010 tournament, also birdied the final two holes in her 67.
"Of course, Yani is No. 1, so I knew it wouldn't be easy today," Miyazato said. "I kind of expected her to play that way."
South Korea's Jiyai Shin, tied for the lead with Tseng after a birdie of her own on the par-4 17th, had a 67 to finish two strokes back.
Tseng eagled the par-5 opening hole and Miyazato had a birdie, leaving them tied at 15 under. Tseng took the lead with a birdie on the par-4 third, and added birdies on the par-4 sixth and par-5 seventh. At the turn, she had a three-stroke lead over Shin and four-shot advantage over Miyazato.
"I played really well on the front nine, but it was tough on the back nine, especially when you see Jiyai and Ai keep making birdies," Tseng said. "It got tight down the stretch. It was tough. I feel like I had lots of emotions today."
Shin, playing a group ahead of Tseng and Miyazato, birdied the par-4 10th to pull within two and gained another stroke when Tseng bogeyed the hole. Tseng pushed her lead to two with a birdie on the par-3 12th, but bogeyed the par-4 13th.
Miyazato birdied the 10th and pulled within one of Tseng with a birdie on the par-4 15th, then matched Tseng with a par on 16 and the birdies on 17 and 18.
"Overall, I played really well and I'm very happy that I could finish strong today," Miyazato said about her season debut. "I really enjoyed playing with Yani, but next time I want to win."
South Korea's Amy Yang shot a 69 to finish fourth at 14 under.
Sixteen-year-old Thai amateur Ariya Jutanugarn followed her third-round 65 with a 74 to tie for 12th to 7 under. She played the final five holes in 4 over, making a double-bogey 7 on No. 18. Last year, Jutanugarn won the U.S. Junior Girls' Championship and was the Rolex Junior Player of the Year.
Seventeen-year-old American Lexi Thompson had five back-nine birdies in a 66 to tie for 14th at 6 under.
"I'm really happy with the way I'm hitting it," Thompson said. "I'm playing consistent. Just need to get a few more of those putts to drop like today."
Second-ranked Suzann Pettersen had a 78 to drop into a tie for 21st at 4 under. She began the round four strokes out of the lead.
Michelle Wie closed with a 73 to tie for 38th at 1 over.
Morgan Pressel had a hole-in-one with an 8-iron on the 136-yard eighth hole. She finished with a 71 to tie for 49th at 4 over.

BANGKOK (AP) ? The three Iranian men detained for allegedly plotting bomb attacks in Bangkok on Israeli diplomats had more than terror on their minds in Thailand. Police said Friday that they had also cavorted with prostitutes at a beach resort.
The news comes as Thai authorities announced they were searching for two more suspects in the botched bomb plot, including a possible explosives specialist who may have been training the Iranians.
The foiled plan was discovered Tuesday when explosives in the men's rented house blew up by mistake, forcing them to flee. Two were detained in the Thai capital, and a third was captured Wednesday in neighboring Malaysia as he reportedly tried to return to Iran.
After flying into the southern city of Phuket on Feb. 8, the men moved to Pattaya and stayed there for at least two nights before heading to Bangkok. Located 45 miles (70 kilometers) southeast of the Thai capital, Pattaya is particularly notorious for its sleazy sex industry and large contingent of prostitutes.
The Iranians hung out with several female sex workers during their stay there, and one of the women was brought to Bangkok to identify the suspects on Thursday, said Lt. Col. Noppon Kuldiloke, a senior immigration police investigator in southern Thailand.
A cellphone image taken by one of the women, published by the Bangkok Post with an article headlined "Suspects partied in Pattaya," purportedly showed the three Iranians at a Middle Eastern bar or restaurant surrounded by hookah water-pipes, two of them cradling women in their arms. The men posed for the photo around a low, drink-filled table on which there appeared to be at least one bottle of beer.
The woman who took the image said one of the now-detained suspects, Mohammad Kharzei, had asked her to escort him "because he was not good at speaking English," according to the Bangkok Post.
She said she brought two companions for Kharzei's friends, and they had drinks and played snooker together. The woman detected nothing awry, except when one of the Iranians "barred her from approaching a closet" in his hotel room, the newspaper reported.
The botched plot has ratcheted up tensions between Iran and Israel, which is accusing Iran of waging a covert campaign of state terror that included a bombing Monday in New Delhi that tore through an Israeli diplomatic vehicle, wounding an Israeli diplomat's wife and driver, and a failed bomb attempt the same day in the former Soviet republic of Georgia.
Iran has denied responsibility for all three bomb plots, and blames the Jewish state for the recent killings of Iranian atomic scientists.
Thailand's national police chief said Thursday that the detained Iranians were plotting to attack Israeli diplomats, citing the similarity of so-called "sticky" bombs that can be attached magnetically that were used in New Delhi and Tbilisi.
On Friday, Bangkok police commissioner Lt. Gen. Winai Thongsong announced authorities were searching for two more suspects in the case, including one man who was seen early Tuesday on closed circuit camera footage as he left the same house where the accidental explosion later took place.
Winai identified the suspect as 52-year-old Javad Nikkhahfard and said he was believed to be a bomb maker who had possibly been training the three Iranians. He said Nikkhahfard was of Middle Eastern descent, but gave no other details and did not give his nationality.
The camera footage showed the white-bearded man leaving the residence with a bag in his hand. Police say he had been coming and going repeatedly in previous days.
The same cameras captured each of the three Iranian men leaving the residence shortly after an explosion ripped the roof of the house that afternoon.
Winai said police also are looking for an additional suspect who had rented the destroyed home with an Iranian woman named Leila Rohani who is now believed to be back in Tehran.
Besides Kharzei, the two other detained suspects are Saeid Moradi, whose leg was sheared off by explosives he was carrying on a busy Bangkok street as he tried to flee, and Masoud Sedaghatzadeh, who was arrested in Malaysia and was trying to return to Iran.

Anonymous Hackers Target US Military Intelligence

Anonymous hackers have re-targeted US military intelligence agencies, releasing two teaser documents as a "taste of what's to come".
The Anonymous collective announced the new attack on Wednesday via Twitter. The two tweets stemmed from the AnonymousIRC Twitter account and contained links to two documents, allegedly taken from the Headquarters Department of the Army.
Specifically, the two documents were a January 2010 Intelligence Officer handbook and an January 2008 Intelligence Support to Urban Operations document. Released as downloadable PDFs the collective described the documents as teasers, indicating its intention to do a larger data dump.

The attack follows an ongoing campaign by Anonymous against the US military and its contractors. Previously the collective has mounted attacks on analysis company Stratfor, biotech firm Monsanto and military contractor Booz Allen Hamilton for their current and past ties to the US Army.
The leak was later credited as a part of Anonymous's ongoing Operation Anti-Security. Started in the 1990s, Anonymous re-affirmed its commitment to the movement in August 2011, when it declared war on the world's banks and governments.
Outside of attacks on the US military, to date the operation has seen Anonymous target numerous law enforcement agencies including the Italian Police, the FBI, the UK Serious Organised Crime Agency and even NATO.
Anonymous gave no indication as to when the second release would occur, nor the nature of the information. US officials had not responded to the International Business Times UK's requests for comment.?

Philly Fed boss warns against speeding recovery (AP)
NEWARK, Del. ? The head of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank is warning against efforts to speed up the nation's economic recovery.
Charles Plosser says that with a very accommodative monetary policy already in place, officials must guard against the medium and longer-term risks of inflation.
Speaking Tuesday at the University of Delaware, Plosser noted that the Fed has kept the federal funds rate near zero for more than three years to support the economic recovery and has conducted two rounds of asset purchases to help stabilize the economy as well.
He says the nation's monetary policy should reflect the fact that the financial crisis has passed and the country is in the third year of a modest economic recovery.

'The Vow' wins strong weekend with $41.2M debut (AP)
LOS ANGELES ? Love conquered the weekend before Valentine's Day as Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum's romantic drama "The Vow" led the box office with a $41.2 million debut.
A big weekend for Hollywood was rounded out by strong debuts for Denzel Washington's action thriller "Safe House" with $40.2 million; Dwayne Johnson's family adventure "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" with $27.3 million; and George Lucas' 3-D version of "Star Wars: Episode I ? The Phantom Menace" with $22.5 million.
